Wed 25th May 2011

What would have been the 3rd race in the Spring Series was cancelled due to a deteriorating weather situation
Thanks to the Skippers, Crew and Race Officers who made the effort and stood around the pier until it was Abbey Time

Hoping for better weather next week

Turn outs have been remarkably low to date - with poor weather conditions not helping

News on 19/05/2011
2nd race of the Spring series - 18th May
Course B3
Again strong and blusterly westerlies put a lot of people off and boats are still being rigged

However 3 boats ventured out and found great sailing conditions on a calm sea with a steady 18 knots of wind leading to fast times being recorded

Class 3
1-Taurus
2-Spica

Class 4
1 -Soirse

Maybe next week will see a bigger turn out challenging the current run away leaders

Race 1 of the summer series 11th May 2011
Course B1
Weather Strong and blustery from the west

Well the first race caught most people out as a lot of boats were still being rigged

4 boats decided to make a race of it and elected to go out in very squally conditions - Tir na Nog were hampered before they left the mooring with a stron wind making it difficult to leave

results are posted up in the clubhouse but in summary

Class 3 - one finisher - Taurus
Class 4 Won by Goosander with Soirse being second

Lets hope for better weather and a better turnout for the second race 18th may
