End of Season - out they come

As yet another year comes to an end the annual ritual of the boat lift has come and gone. Always an anxious time for any boat owner as they watch their nautical pride and joy swinging in the air en passage from sea to pen.

Here are a few photos from the day with a link to the full album here.

High Winds greet the start of the racing season

High winds have created plenty of challenges to the start of the Wednseday racing series, with only a hardy few braving the elements and taking advantage of the lack of competition to get a good start to the season. See the latest results on the racing page

Welcome back

Sinead, Paddy and newly extended family back in the water. Congratulations on the new arrival.

Lift in made easy!

Getting all the boats back in the water provides plenty of opportunity for the members to demonstrate the spirit of the club. This years effort was an example of good planning from start to finish, with the entire operation completed by 4 in the afternoon, leaving some members wondering what to do until it was a respectable time to go to the pub.

The combination of two cranes and good management will take most of the credit. Special thanks goes to those members who had no reason to be there on the day as their boats were already in the water, yet turned up and made a huge effort to assist anyone who needed it.

Free registration to ISA small crafts register!

The (ISA) Irish Sailing Association who administer the "Small Craft Register" in Ireland have offered free registration for Cruising Association members until the end of June.

The Small Craft Register usually costs €62 for non-ISA members so this is a substantial discount!

See the Cruising association website for further details.
